Your Filler Questions, Answered
No. This is a common myth. Hyaluronic acid fillers naturally metabolize (break down) over time. Once the filler is gone, your skin eventually returns to its original state. In fact, the stretching action of the filler stimulates your own collagen, so your lips may look slightly better than before even after it dissolves.
We prioritize your comfort. We apply a potent prescription-grade BLT numbing cream before the procedure. Additionally, Revanesse® fillers contain lidocaine (a numbing agent) right in the syringe, so the area becomes more numb as we inject. Most patients find it very tolerable without the need for gas.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers typically last 12 to 18 months, depending on the area treated and your individual metabolism. Areas with high movement (like lips) may metabolize faster (6-9 months) than structural areas like cheeks.
For the lips, we strongly recommend filler. While threads can provide a subtle lift to the border, filler is superior for adding the hydration and volume that makes lips look youthful and pillowy.
